Kris’s musical journey began unexpectedly with the flute in 6th grade, but his true calling came when he received his first acoustic guitar in 10th grade. From there, his passion for music ignited. Entirely self-taught, Kris learned by visually memorizing chord shapes and recreating the sounds he heard from others. His early days of guitar playing were spent performing for a youth group band, but it wasn’t long before his musical tastes evolved, and he gravitated towards the heavier side of music.

By high school, Kris’s influences ranged from the emotive strums of Dashboard Confessional to the crushing riffs of Lamb of God—a reflection of his diverse musical tastes. He played covers for friends but soon began composing his own music, fusing a variety of styles including metal, acoustic, folk, and even rap. No genre was off-limits for Kris, whose creativity knew no boundaries.

In 11th grade, Kris joined his first metal band, a defining moment that confirmed his passion for the genre. Although the band didn’t last long—like many do—Kris never stopped creating. Whether it was metal riffs, acoustic melodies, reggae beats, or podcast jingles for friends, Kris found solace and excitement in songwriting. He developed an affinity for crafting beats, often using a looping pedal to build intricate compositions that showcased his versatility as a musician.

Fast forward to 2021, and Kris’s musical journey took a significant turn when he met Jay through a mutual friend. Jay recognized Kris’s raw talent and pushed him to fully embrace his abilities. With Jay’s support, Kris grew as a musician, and soon after, Enola Reven was born.

“Metal is something that just hits the soul differently,” Kris says. “The heavy breakdowns and beautiful open chords… it can’t be explained, only felt.”

For Kris, music is more than just sound—it’s a legacy. “It’s the one thing that will survive even after you pass from this life,” he reflects. Driven by this belief, Kris’s commitment to creating music is unwavering, and his story is far from over.
